Rabbit under the age of 6 months and pregnant rabbits should be fed alfalfa hay. Alfalfa hay is legume hay and the protein, calcium, and energy content are higher than in grass hay. Timothy hay is the most commonly used hay for adult rabbits but some people may have allergies to this hay. Other options include organic meadow hay, botanical hay, orchard hay, and

oat hay.

Pellets

For 7 weeks to 6 months, they should have unlimited pellets.

From 6 months to 1 year, they should be fed ½ cup per 6 lbs of body weight.

1-5 years is considered a mature rabbit and should be fed 1/4 to 1/2 cup pellets per 6 lbs. body weight

Over the age of 6 years old is a senior rabbit and if sufficient weight is maintained, continue the adult diet.

For mature rabbits, the first ingredient in pellets should be timothy hay.
